When I was a little kid my mom used to play that one hit from the ‘70s, “Summer Breeze.” Every time I think about this song I think about birthday party supplies. When I asked my mom about this she said that the first few times that she ever played the song for me was when we were wrapping up gifts for my older sister’s birthday. Ever since then, she went on to say, I’ve always really enjoyed birthdays and made a big deal out of them, no matter who’s we were talking about. This made a whole lot of sense and explained a lot of things for me.

Every year I always have to have special birthday hats for my own celebration, which is something that most adults don’t do. After my mom explained the song to me, I started to realize that I needed to cut some of this childish stuff out of my life. I was getting too old to be doing some of these things, which is something that a lot of my friends have often spoken to me about. At least now I know where all of this comes from, so I probably won’t ever spend a lot of money on novelty hats ever again.
